Semiconductor and Thin Film Technology

The course covers fundaments on the electrical and mechanical properties of thin films and semiconductor fabrication processes. Fabrication of a diode in teams of 4-6 students, design a PN-diode and make a prediction for the I-V characteristics of correct and falsy diodes. Work on parts of the whole process flow, document results and hand over to the next group. All groups work on the same wafers and characterize their commonly fabricated devices in the end. Finish by comparing the prediction with the measured I-V curve of the diodes.
