Physical modelling and simulation

Students can classify, manipulate, and implement partial differential equations for simulation. They can solve these equations using finite element methods, selecting and applying appropriate numerical methods. They can solve the model equations in steady-state, transient, frequency-dependent, and modal ways. They can solve and interpret eigenvalue problems of partial differential equations. They are familiar with the most important partial differential equations in various fields of physics.
